Our story

Three generations, one family

From a Werribee backyard to three farms across Victoria — the Casaccio family has been producing eggs the honest way since 1966.

“Unione fa la forza” — united we are strong.

Three generations of the Casaccio family gathered on the farm

In 1966, Italian migrants Gregorio and Emanuela Casaccio started a farm in Werribee with their three sons — Sam, Paul and John — and around 2,000 hens in the backyard. They didn’t have much, but they had each other, and a principle Emanuela passed to her boys: “Unione fa la forza” — united we are strong. It still guides everything we do.

Growing the farm

The middle son, Paul, and his wife Josie took the business further — extending operations to Lara and to a farm in Terang in regional Victoria. Together they pioneered more sustainable practices and lifted quality standards, becoming genuine innovators in the Victorian egg industry. Between them, Paul and Josie have clocked up 99 years of poultry experience — and while they’ve now semi-retired, their standards are stamped on every carton.

The third generation

Today the third generation runs the farms, with a fourth already learning the ropes. We’ve invested in environmentally friendly automated hen houses, free-range systems and a state-of-the-art grading floor — but the heart of the business hasn’t changed. It’s still a family farm, and we still believe in good old-fashioned customer service that comes from the heart: love, warmth, generosity and kindness.

Recognised by our community

In 2022 we were proud to receive the Wyndham City Council Agribusiness Award — a reflection of our place in the local community and the trust our customers place in us. It’s an honour we share with everyone who’s ever picked up a carton of Casaccio eggs.

With love, from our family farm to your family table.
